This page will take you through my gardens and will focus mainly on my love of roses.
For over twenty years I have enjoyed gardening on this 10 acre property in zone 5 south central British Columbia, Canada. The main changes have taken place in the last 10 years and I continue to improve and develope new gardens. There is a natural forest on about 2 acres and 7 acres is alfalfa, the rest is my garden. Gardening has become a passion and roses are an obsession. In 1996 I planted my first 60 rose bushes and by the end of 2002 I had 303 bushes. There are roses of almost every type and colour. The main roses garden has 104 bushes and the rest are incorporated into most of the other beds and borders in my garden. Besides the main rose garden there is a small pond and waterfall, a woodland garden, vegetable garden, herb garden, a secret garden and several island beds and exstensive borders. The garden is surrounded on three sides by natural forest and most areas are in part shade with the front gardens getting more sun. The soil is clay base with lots of rocks. I have two small greenhouses in which I start thousands of bedding plants, annuals, perennials and vegetables each year. I enjoy collection interesting objects to add focal points in the garden.

My garden is visited regularly by the native birds and animals, especially the white tail deer who have trails all through the forest.

I hope you enjoy a stroll through my garden.br>

In the fall of 2002 I was thrilled to win the most points in the flower competition of the local fall fair, for the second time. Entrance in the competition is fun and all the competitiors put on a very good show. I do not grow my roses for exhibition but I enjoy supporting and entering the local fair which has been held for over 100 years.

White tail doe getting a drink
These garden friends do some damage by nibbling on the plants but they are so beautiful I find it easy to forgive them.
