Here are some of the critters who drop by our garden
Some of our guests are more welcome than others

A black bear drops by for lunch
We have spotted this guy drinking from the bird bath in the woodland garden and after this photo was taken I stopped putting out food for the birds for a week. He has not been seen since thank goodness.

Peregrin Falcon has a dip
I spotted this falcon several times early this summer but the song birds were not too happy to see him. The garden gets very quiet when he drops by.
Bambie in the meadow
This little one is so sweet he/she is welcome anytime. I can even forgive mama deer for nibbling on plants when she brings her baby with her.
This garden is for the birds.
The ring necked phesants are daily visitors. This pair of mallard ducks visited every day for a few weeks.
pileated woodpecker hangs around
We see these guys quite often in winter and early spring.
Chicadee on the ash tray fountain
I made this fountain from a brass ashtray I found in an antique store. I was thrilled when the birds started using it as a bath and drinking fountain especially since it is right beside our front door.
bird cage feeder
I cut extra doors in this bird cage and the little birds love to go right in and get a snack. See the bird sitting in the doorway. They often feed here then fly to the near by ash tray fountain for a drink.
This doe is wearing her fall colour too
This doe has been visiting for a couple of years and shows very little fear when we are in the garden. I was only a few feet away from her when I took this photo.
this guy is having fun
We love to see the baby deer when thier mothers bring them to play on our lawn. We are even able to forgive them for digging holes in the lawn with their hoofs.
TC in the catnip
Unfortunatley this sweet old girl is no longer with us but we have many great memories of her 14 years in our family. Great photos like this also keep her memory with us. She loved rolling in this big tub of catnip as all our cats do.
Flossy finds the catnip seedlings
I had these trays of seedlings outside to harden off and the cats found them right away. It was okay until she rolled over onto the next tray which was full of asters.
Peppi is now 14 but she still loves to drink from the pond. She never seems to notice the 30 or so gold fish swimming around under the surface.
These are a few of my favorite photographs from my different travels. Feel free to browse them as you like. If you want one click your right mouse button and choose "Save As" from the menu.
Smooch
This beauty disapeared a year ago and I still find myself listening for her bell. She roamed the garden and loved to stretch out on this concrete bench for a nap.
Lucky
Lucky is the sister of Smooch and as you can see by her picture she is very dainty. She is a large cat almost 13 pounds but very sweet and somewhat clueless.
